It's really all a matter of preference. I bought the 335i because it is more spacious than the 135i, has a beautiful ride, and it has the equivalent performance of the old m3. The 135i in reality is very small, probably about the same length as a mazda miata. The old m3 is a great car, but you need to buy a used one to get the price savings mentioned here, which in my mind isn't worth it save for nostalgia's sake.

Why did they put in the old M3?

I think I would still choose the M3.

Actually the turboes are the same size, otherwise BMW would call the N54 bi turbo not twin turbo. There isnt any turbo lag because theyre two tiny turboes lined up parallel instead of having one big one and using the Vanos fuel injection.

they are twin turbo...idk if bi turbo means twin

wrong! bmw uses sequential, rather than parallel system. it uses 2 turbos of different sizes, but both of them work all 6 cyl. small one works only at lower revs and with low pressure boost, helping with low-end torque. due to its small size and weight it spools up very quickly but cannot produce big boost. at middle revs big turbo gradually takes over and the small one stops working. in this way bmw virtually eliminates turbo-lag and gets responsiveness and power of a much bigger v8 engine.

Yea your right. But theoretically the 135i and 335i are twin turbo, not bi turbo that's what i meant. But you could say it either way because most people dont even know the difference.

both the 135 and the 335 have the same engine, the 3.0L bi turbo 6 cylinder. What I mean by Bi turbo is that the engine has two turbos for half of the engine. So for a each turbo is only working for 3 cylinders. Any bmw with the 35i designation will have the 6 cylinder 3.0L bi turbo engine. The 335i was the 1st BMW to be offered with this engine.

335i engine isnt bi turbo. |
